The Public Archives of the State of São Paulo received in late December 2010 over a collection essential for memory state schools. This is the documentation of the Immigrant Memorial, an institution that is currently going through a phase of reorganization and reform of its building, located in Bras. Between 1887 and 1978, the former guesthouse of Immigrants received people from over 60 nationalities and ethnicities, all duly recorded in books and listings. Currently, the Memorial, and has become a tourist attraction, providing an important public service by providing certificates of arrival of foreigners to their descendants.
The receipt of these documents required the team a significant mobilization of the Archive. Were transferred 3,730 boxes, containing processes and various other documentary items, and 92 file cabinets with tokens. As for the iconographic material, the Archive received 28 Map Collection and 53 boxes of various sizes, containing photo albums, photos of the colonial core, and immigrants and their families, postcards, glass negatives and photographic albums with negative flexible.
Receiving the collection was held on December 29, 2010, with the participation of over 30 staff of the Archive. The organizational work was started on January 3 and will continue in coming months, enabling the public to have access to parts of the acquis hitherto unavailable for consultation.

The service for issuance of certificates relating to immigrants was initiated on January 11 and will always occur from the 3rd to Saturday, from 9 to 17h.

The Archive will produce three types of documents:
certificate record (verbatim transcript of the data sheets of the foreigner);
statement that nothing contained (produced on the lack of record card foreign);
landing certificate (produced based on the books and lists of arrivals).
