I decided to write an article sull'obedience to clear up many misunderstandings. I often in my profession dog trainer, to have customers come to me saying he wanted to "obedience" with this meaning, however, a simple obedience or basic education. In other words, the obedience is not an exotic word to say obedience, but it is a real sport with a lot of rules and regulation.
The activity is a dog obedience sport recognized by the FCI ( FCI) which also refers to the Enci (National Agency of the Italian Kennel Club) and consists of a series of exercises of varying difficulty (depending on the class in which it participates) led to a great level of speed and accuracy.
There are 4 classes, according to the difficulty in fact, the beginners class, class 1, class 2, class 3, which entitles the 1st to the excellent achievement of the CAC (Certificate of aptitude for the Italian Championship) that will serve to attain the title of Italian Champion of Obedience .
I would now like to clarify the relationship of empathy that is the basis of a combination of good dog - conductor, the joy of both, but I like to stress that most of the dog to do the exercises that are required, not because any forced by a method of coercion, but because they are highly motivated, joyful, to please his handler, as part of a team. For this reason, coercive methods to train a dog not come up with anything substantial in obedience, because among other things, the judge has the task of judging the report dog - card holder in his trial.
I like also to emphasize the difficulty of certain evidence, such as olfactory discrimination, where our friend would have to identify by smell only the stick touched by his tenant, in the midst of other and back again, or how the land - remains in group with other dogs never seen before, with the driver that comes from having the dog for 2 minutes.
Another thing I like to highlight is the beautiful atmosphere that is created between all the competitors, where no one disturbs the slightest proof of the other, where everyone is for everyone, for advice, assistance, a words of support. And at the end of the ride, usually closes the day with a nice meal together.
Unfortunately, today the obedience is almost unknown in Sicily, while it is fairly widespread up from Rome. A few pioneers, armed with courage and passion, shall bear hundreds of miles for training, with the race simulations, lends itself to great efforts also arrange flights to any race official or participate in competitions that take place in Naples, Rome, Turin, Milan. Among them deserves a big applause the sports association "Dog Obedience Society of Barcelona (Me) which has already taken charge of the organization of different races in Sicily.
Fortunately, following the example of friends Barcelona new groups are springing up in Sicily, as in Agrigento, at the Center Cinofilo Villa Adriana, or in Palermo at the Center for the friend Marianna Raneri Cinofilo Dog Star.
We are still a few, but we certainly armed with great passion and great desire to promote this wonderful dog sport activities.
We have a dream, that in a few years, even from us, those who want to do obedience, you will find many opportunities, and the opportunity to compete every Sunday to a few tens of kilometers from home. It would benefit the entire dog-loving Sicilian movement, which made training and dog-loving culture is unfortunately still far behind, and above all it would benefit our furry friends, mentally and physically engaged in a fun dog sport activities , the huge outlet for those dogs that live in apartments or closed in box, the main cause of stress and the onset of problem behaviors.
